Rocking clubs and parties for over a decade now, The Freestylers are still one of the most exciting names in
dance music. They've had Top 20 chart hits, headlined big festivals, sold half a million albums, toured the
US supporting Lenny Kravitz, and were the first electronic act to play fully live on legendary BBC TV show
Top Of The Pops.
Aston Harvey and Matt Cantor were both making different styles of music when they first met in London in the
mid-90s. Uber-engineer Aston had been half of pioneering breakbeat hardcore act Blapps Posse, getting busy
with cuts like 'Buss' It' and 'Don't Hold Back' before going on to work with Definition Of Sound, Rebel MC and
DJ Rap. Matt Cantor, meanwhile, was recording with Andy Gardner from the Plump DJs as Cut 'N' Paste and
Strike for the fledgling Freskanova label.
Quick one, just wanted to lace you with the link to the latest exclusive mp3 to appear on the fabric Blog. We’ve secured a free download of jozif’s ‘Rice & P’s’ ahead of his slot in Room One this coming Saturday.
Gumpf:
We first came across London-based DJ and producer jozif blaring out of the speakers of our creative director's office. A face seen often on our dancefloor, the majority of us being unaware of his studio secrets, it wasn't long before his deep, distinctive productions became a firm favourite of Craig Richards and Howie B...and soon after his murky, dizzying beats made their way to becoming a veritable obsession in our office. As a DJ, he delivers richly dense grooves and an unexpected box of tricks - without doubt, he's one of few DJs that can leave us all on the edge of our seats (please note the very shit cliché use, as sitting down is the last place you'll find us when he's manning the decks) throughout an entire set.
LU10 Records are back, this time with our rising star Jay Robinson∑Jay has been receiving massive support from the likes of Kissy Sellout (BBC Radio1), Annie Nightingale (BBC Radio1), Detboi (Cheap Thrills) and many more. The Ep consists of three original bangers, „Dibba‰, Spazz Flute‰, and Dubplate Concerto each encorparting Jays unique sound blending ethnic beats with hard basslines. As usual we‚re not happy with just giving you the slammin‚ original, we‚ve had to enlist some of the biggest boys about at the moment to drop some sick remixes as well!! We have secured remixes from Calvertron and Thrills.
Thrills delivers a slammin‚ dubstep version which will have the jump up crowd aching for more, whilst calvertron delivers an ethnic jaw dropping dirty house remix.
These samples are taken from ISR's Vintage
Breaks Volume One so if you already own this sample pack then you don't
need to buy this pack!
If you don't own the pack, this
special version contains all you need to get that old school break beat vibe in
your production work.
Inspired by well known classic
grooves. Industrial Strength's Vintage Break Beat sample collection is a must
have for any electronic music producer.
With 258 original license free
samples. All performed live by New York drummer Evan Pazner. The loops were
made using a late 1960's Ludwig drum kit similar to the kit used in many famous
breaks from the past.
Hybrid burst forth across the cinescape (once more) with the gargantuan “Can You Hear Me”. Taken from the highly successful fourth album “Disappear Here” (which reached number 1 and 2 in the ITunes electronic charts in US, UK and Canada). The epic third single from the album, lets the drama of the album unfold with a slower more striking pace and heavy throbbing drums. Charlotte’s vocals combine with soaring 47 part strings to introduce a powerful, harmonic chorus. The song changes pace to introduce featured vocalist and previous Hybrid bass player, Tim Hutton (The Prodigy, Ian Brown, Groove Armada) to full effect.
